Good to know that you are inclined towards Data Engineering work and you have already started looking for SQL and Hadoop/Big Data.
I would like to share that you are already on correct path to be a data engineer. You should have clear picture about data warehousing and ETL concepts. Also make sure you have good understanding about DBMS system.
Looking at latest trend, I would recommend you to go for Cloud Data Engineer certification from any of the prominent cloud service providers.
