Hello Himaja. "Semiconductor engineer" is quite broad...making semiconductors involeves MANY processes, so a process engineer - for example - would focus only on one of those processes. A product engineer, on the other hand, would focus on a specific product from the beginning to the end, working closely to process engineers to make sure the product has no problems.
Your question is quite general, but i hope i answered to it

Thankyou sir. Actually it's mentioned in offer letter that I'll be a semiconductor engineer. It'd be helpful if I can get some information regarding my job role.

Also, for those who are going to join as a semiconductor engineer, how the specific roles (design, verification, analog, firmware, embedded, etc) are allotted?

Depending on your studies, expertise and desired career it will be determined which would be the best fitting role for you. For instance, between a candidate with electronic engineering background and one with material engineering background, the former one would be a better fit for design, probably. I say "probably" because you can definitely be a designer engineer even with a different background!
I would recommend to talk to our Talent Acquisition team and hiring managers, they can definitely help assessing your expertise
